It was (and still is) the oddest thing: my face, neck and chest will just go red at the oddest times--I've gotten better at realizing some of the triggers, but there are still plenty of random moments that make my coworkers wonder if I'm upset at something.
Because of family members with various ANA diseases, we tested for things like Lupus but it came back negative, we tested all those girly hormones but everything was fine (and I'm on birth control so, being hormone therapy, it wouldn't have been hot flashes anyway) and my thyroid was spot-on normal. The endocrinologist, of course, had a few more tricks up her sleeve so it was back for more tests, etc.
The 24-hour test was a bit of a shocker and way inconvenient. I had to do 2 back-to-back so pretty much my weekend was shot! I mean, I didn't want to go anywhere and have to drag one of those bright orange bio-hazard jug with me so when I have to do these tests (average every 6 months) I just plan a lot of activities at home. It's coincidental that I had to do a round of this test this past weekend as well.

You’d think something like that wouldn’t slip a doctor’s mind. And yet…
But wait, it gets better!

Sorry. House. Had to be said.

Heh.
Any and all House jokes are welcome, here. You have no idea how many times we’ve discussed my need for a House-like doctor (sans Vicodin addiction) to finally figure me out.
