Story courtesy of our friendly plumber who has the most adorable little boy. He was a later-in-life (though not exactly ‘late’, just after they’d sorta figured they wouldn’t have kids after all) baby and hearing bits and pieces of his adjustment to parenting is amusing to say the least. But it’s my understanding that a lot of kids try out using their parents’ first names because that’s what they hear other people say. Mom has it written down in my baby book that, at about 3 years old or so, I called her “She-duh” (for Sheila) for a while. Apparently Dennis had never encountered this phenomena. Â
