It always gets me when the back of the shop is in a lull, I'm usually my busiest. About twice a year I get maybe a week between major deadlines and when everything else in miraculously caught up and no one's screaming for COD invoice, etc that I can take care of that stack of to-be-filed stuff or the paperwork that needs a response of some sort but is in no way urgent. Most of that stack was the former type (I'm good about meeting deadlines, after all) but apparently the last time I'd had that section of my desk cleared was 3.5. Years. Prior. Dude...
Something else that freaks out my coworkers? (Along with the showing up really early. And by coworkers I mean my boss, in this instance.) Cleaning my desk. I shuffle a LOT of paper, and some of it doesn't shuffle so easy so when that scarred wood veneer is visible in large chunks people start getting antsy that I'm going to quit or something (like I'd be that dumb!).
